then he listened to me and heard my cry.

Want to take your interest and love of pilgrimages to the next level? Want to also help others enjoy the wonderful fruits, benefits, and graces received through pilgrimage travel? If so, consider starting a travel ministry at your parish or faith community.

Each year millions of people travel throughout the world on pilgrimage. Many travel with their church, faith community, religious organization, or individually. These experiences are often life-changing.  Furthermore, the benefits of experiencing faith, fun, and fellowship as community are priceless.

How to begin? First, talk to your pastor about developing a travel ministry.

Second, volunteer to serve as its leader and organizer. Thirdly, recruit a few other individuals to assist you (many people love combining their faith with travel, so it should be easy to find a few eager volunteers). Fourth, begin planning a calendar of trips ranging from local pilgrimages to maybe one overseas pilgrimage (Europe, the Holy Land, etc.). Fifth, promote the pilgrimage to your fellow parishioners through advertising in your church bulletin, hosting a “pilgrimage travel show” following Mass, handing out flyers and the like. Sixth, have a wonderful time on your pilgrimage. Thanks to you, your parish community will be all the more strengthened and enriched in faith, fun, and fellowship.
